Set of 10 yanone battle and hunting arrowheads from the Edo period

लॉट विवरण
The spearhead collection on display includes seven mirror-polished spearheads and four spearheads with a patina left from their forging to simulate rust. These are mainly spearheads imitating the shape of yari spears - the so-called togari-ya - and willow leaf-like spearheads, but they are not ceremonial spearheads, as two of them have no openwork decoration at all, and the other three have a very fine heart-shaped cutout, which is decorative, but which is unlikely to be compared to even an openwork decoration in the form of a cherry blossom. These types of spearheads similar in shape to a leaf in both Europe and Japan were used more often for hunting and less often on the battlefield. The other two spearheads are a chisel-shaped spearhead, designed to pierce through armor, and a small V-shaped spearhead, which was used to hunt small birds.

The set has a certificate of authenticity issued by Polish appraiser Krzysztof Polak.
