First page a bit dusty, stains and tears of end pages (index), last page with loss of margins, taped tears of several index pages. New Testament translated by Rev. James Wujek taken out of the first edition of the Bible in his translation (Krakow 1599). On the first card preserved here, the beginning of the Gospel according to St. Matthew ("Holy Iezvsa Christvsa Evangelium, according to Matthæus") decorated with a wide decorative woodcut border. "The translation and editing works of Rev. Jakub Wujek are among the greatest achievements of domestic biblical printing and Polish biblical translation [...]. They included a linguistically beautiful translation in a scholarly study" (Biblia Polonorum, vol. 1, p. 479 (Pos. 2016)).
