Biography
She began her painting studies at Nikolai Roerich’s private school in St. Petersburg, and later studied in Kraków under Józef Pankiewicz and Leon Wyczółkowski. She also studied in Paris under Faujita and in Munich. From 1920 to 1926, she was married to Kazimierz Grus, a satirist and illustrator from Lviv. She lived in Paris for several years. In 1941, she was imprisoned at Pawiak and later at the Ravensbrück concentration camp. She returned to Poland in 1946. Her works featured floral compositions and erotic and genre scenes. In addition to painting, she was also involved in set design, poster design, and interior design. Her works can be viewed in Paris, Italy, and Sweden, among other places.
