" Andrzej Wach was a great lover of Lodz, he initiated open-air photography exhibitions in Piotrkowska Street. He published six albums: the first depicted Piotrkow Trybunalski, and the others were: "Architecture of Industrial Lodz," "Lodz," "Sacred Landscape of the Archdiocese of Lodz," "Cultural Landscape of the Land of Lodz" and "Landscapes of Lodz." His photos have been featured in many exhibitions at home and abroad.
Throughout his life, he closely observed what was happening in Lodz. He was everywhere where something important was happening. He captured scenes from Lodz's streets, backyards, train stations and marketplaces. He showed the real Lodz, not beautified. Like few others, he was able to show the specifics of this textile city.
He was a great observer. He was able to show the people of Lodz and their daily struggles. His works from the communist era are particularly expressive. Photos taken during May Day parades, meetings on the occasion of successive conventions of the Polish United Workers' Party, social deeds, the work of Lodz textile workers.
