Tomasz Górnicki, Glimmer, 2018, black concrete with bronze elements on steel pedestal, dimensions: 129 x 34 cm, skull: 18 x 20 x 14 cm, signed monogram: GÓRNICKI +.
BIO:
Born on November 1, 1986. Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2010 in the studio of Janusz Antonia Pastwa. The artist's interests oscillate around realism. For him, physicality is a basic theme, a vehicle that transports into the symbolic world, a trail leading to archetypes. His urban actions provoke questions and do not leave the viewer indifferent. He uses the language of symbols, mainly religious, philosophical and psychological.
Górnicki works with both monumental scale and small form. He experiments with combining different materials, such as bronze, stone, aluminum and fabric. He explores the qualities of color and brings 2D graphics into the 3D world. He believes that sculpture can arrange and even create space.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and has also been the author of solo exhibitions.
