A painting by Halina Szkopek depicting a Kashubian landscape, created in 1991 using oil on canvas. The work is part of the landscape theme present in the artist’s oeuvre; observations of nature and the surrounding landscape were an important source of inspiration for her.
Halina Szkopek (1955–2021) was born in Karviná. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the guidance of Prof. Jerzy Nowosielski, graduating in 1980. She was professionally affiliated with the University of Silesia in Cieszyn and later worked as a set designer for the “Bajka” Puppet Theater in Český Těšín.
The artist worked in oil, watercolor, and drawing. She designed theater sets and commercial art. She participated in numerous exhibitions and open-air art events in Poland and the Czech Republic. Her works were exhibited in Kraków, Warsaw, Toruń, Opole, Karviná, Český Těšín, and Ostrava, among other places.
