bronze, patinated casting; height 43.5 cm; width 24 cm; depth 20 cm.
France, Mathurin MOREAU (1822-1912) - according to, late 19th century.
Figure of a seated woman, barefoot, wearing a long robe profusely draped, holding a spindle in her right hand and weaving thread with the fingers of her left hand. Perhaps this is a depiction of Klotho - one of the three Greek goddesses of destiny ( Moira - Klotho, Lachesis and Athropos). On the side on the base the inscription: " Victor PAILLARD D'APRES M[athur]in MOREAU".
