Painter and printmaker. From 1948 to 1954 studied at the State Higher School of Visual Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Gdansk, where he later taught and served as rector from 1987 to 1990. A co-founder of the Sopot School, he took part in the reconstruction of polychromes of Gdansk tenements. He was also involved in graphic design, which he taught. He participated in the "Arsenal" exhibition taking place in Warsaw in 1955. A great influence on his work was the art of Piotr Potworowski.
