Biography
Piotr Harasimiuk / Harry pH is an artist who has been accompanied by drawing and painting practically all his life. When he struggled with severe neurosis in his early youth, it was painting that allowed him to return to balance and proved to be, in his case, the only effective remedy for concentration problems and neurosis. He is an artist with an unconventional resume. He spent most of his life traveling to the most remote corners of the world simultaneously drawing, writing and contemplating reality. In the meantime, he managed to complete his studies, where he defended a diploma on creative processes in building the image of the world's biggest brands, their strategic campaigns and audiovisual realizations. He was born in Warsaw and has been creating for years in his spacious studio at Filtry, in Old Ochota, where his latest works can be seen on display. For many years he has run his own creative team, the Happy Hours creative boutique, collaborating with other artists, writers, directors, cartoonists, actors and dancers to realize projects for international clients. For the past few years he has also had a second studio in Spain, in the Canary Islands, and there in Maspalomas, in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, he works most of the year. Although emotionally firmly rooted in Warsaw and creatively shaped by years of traveling the world, the energy of the ocean, the island climate, freedom and the Spanish temperament feature strongly in his work. The artist himself says that living and working in two completely different worlds broadens one's perspective, gives the distance needed to develop one's own individual creative path, without environmental or fashion influences. He enjoys working with pastels, acrylics and oils. His pastels are usually very dynamic, spontaneous, marked by a strong emotional charge. They are a reflection of the state of mind and the moment. In the case of acrylics or oils, he likes to work on large-format canvases, and the creative process is completely different, more complex, arranged. The artist values conceptual work, he likes to first build the creative axis of a series of works, work out the ideological details, prepare countless drawings, concepts, sketches and only then face the canvas. Focus, detail, silence, concentration and inner peace, as well as a very strong spiritual connection with what surrounds him, are the conditions in which he creates his works. Art events organized by the artist are usually attended by a host of distinguished guests from the world of art and culture. His works are in many private collections scattered around the world.
