Martta Węg was born in 1978 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. She lives and works in Warsaw. She was educated at the Private School of Drawing and Painting and the High School of Fine Arts in Lodz. In 2002, she graduated with honors from the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw at the Faculty of Painting in the studio of Professor Barbara Szubinska. She was nominated by the European Academy of Arts for the Award of the President of the Republic of Poland for the best diploma work - "Diploma of the Year 2002" of art schools in the field of Fine Arts. She is also the winner of the Prize of the President of Warsaw in the competition for the title: "Best Student - Graduate of Warsaw Universities". In 2005, she received the "Vernissage Graduate Art Prize in Painting 2005" in London, and in France she received the Honorary Medal of the City of Bourg-la-Reine. Twice honored with an art scholarship from the Minister of National Education. Since 2005, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists. She is a participant in many individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Paris at Art Presént Gallery, in London at The Bloxham Galleries, in Italy at Galleria Arte Bersani, in Brussels and Arnhem in the Netherlands, as well as International Art Fairs in London, Amsterdam and New York. The artist's paintings are in private collections at home and abroad, in the Tomaszow Mazowiecki Museum and in the Italian museum Pinacoteca Comunale di Finale Ligure.
