Still lifes are exceptionally rare in the artist's oeuvre. The only known analogous work is "Still Life" from the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw (oil, canvas, 125 x 100 cm, illustr.). Presented at auction and exhibited many times, "Still Life" is a unique and outstanding work by the artist. Shown in the Hall of Honor at the Venice Biennale, it was for many years in the collection of the family of the
of the artist. The presented painting perfectly shows the full artistry and temperament of the artist, about which Mieczyslaw Treter wrote: "Vibrant power of creative temperament, freshness of ideas and unstoppable momentum of youth, believing in the certainty of its means, exuberance of strong color and extremely intense ability of characterization (...)." M. Treter, Catalogue of an exhibition of paintings by Friedrich Pautsch, 1911, p. 16.
