Biography
Alexander Adamau lives and works in Warsaw, Poland. His artistic practice focuses on the intersection of care, control and vulnerability of the body within contemporary systems of protection and discipline. Working in the fields of sculpture, installation and object-oriented design, he explores how aesthetics and security functions - ergonomic forms, medical materials, standardized devices - are transformed into tools of regulation and psychological constraint.
The artist's work reflects the body as a site of both fragility and social inscription, revealing how acts of care often also function as surveillance. His objects balance between intimacy and institutionalization, between refuge and observation, transforming everyday symbols of support into subtle structures of dependence and alienation.
He has exhibited his work at prestigious institutions, including the Neue Museum in Nuremberg, Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Leipzig, Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok and Galeria Szczur in Poznan, and others.
