In the 1920s, the Hel Peninsula gained popularity as a well-known summer resort. Already much earlier in Hel there was the famous Lwia Jama tavern, the building of which, visible from the beach, was captured by Jaxa on his work. In the interwar period, a restaurant, hotel, café and confectionery operated there.
