Hedwig. A historical drama from the 14th century by Gabryel Kuzinin
in 5 acts - 6 scenes
Albina Gabriela Puzynina (1815 - 1869) - Polish duchess, poet, comedy writer and memoirist. Born into a wealthy landowning family, she was the youngest daughter of Adam Günther and Alexandra of Tyzenhauz. For many years she wrote only for her own pleasure and the enjoyment of her family and friends. It was only at the urging of Ignacy Chodko, and despite her mother's opposition, that she published her first volume, "In God's Name," in 1843. This was followed by two more volumes of poetry, two volumes of prose, two dramas and a collection of anecdotes for children. She was very interested in theater and the situation of the Vilnius stage at the time. Six of her plays were successfully staged. Already after the author's death, the "Ant" Library published in Lviv her Hedwig. A historical drama from the 14th century in 5 acts and 6 scenes, and the editors of the "Family Chronicle", presented several works taken from her manuscripts in the pages of the magazine. Thus, although she was generally not accorded great talents, she was appreciated for her own style, noble simplicity of language, integrity of ideas, love for Lithuania and the slightly ironic kindness with which she evaluated the world and people. (after M. Berkan-Jabłońska, "Correspondence Meetings of Gabriela née Günther Puzynina and Katarzyna née Lipińska Lewocka")
