Frantisek Kupka was a Czech painter who played a key role in the development of abstract art. He spent most of his artistic life in France, where he became one of the pioneers of abstract painting, although in his own time he did not achieve as much popularity as some of his contemporaries, such as Wassily Kandinsky or Piet Mondrian. However, as the years passed, the significance of his work began to be increasingly recognized, and he himself became one of the key figures in the history of modern art.

František Kupka, fascinated by philosophy, science, music, and esotericism, Kupka believed that painting could be a medium for expressing the universal principles of existence, just as music is an art form that expresses emotions without the need to resort to representational forms.
