Zygmunt Rozwadowski (Lviv 1870–1950 in Zakopane)—Polish battle painter, set designer, and soldier in the Legions. From 1883 to 1890, he studied at the Kraków School of Fine Arts under, among others, Jan Matejko, and from 1891 to 1893 in Munich at Anton Azbe’s private school. While still a student, he exhibited his paintings at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (TPSP) in Kraków and Lviv, initially under the name Jordan. After graduation, he lived in Lviv—he taught at the Industrial School, exhibited frequently, and collaborated on the decoration of the Lviv theater’s auditoriums. During World War I, he fought in the Legions. After World War II, he settled in Zakopane. He primarily painted battle scenes from the Napoleonic era and the November Uprising, genre scenes featuring horses, and, less frequently, portraits and landscapes. He participated in the creation of popular panoramas—Racławice with Jan Styka and Wojciech Kossak; Golgotha; the Transylvanian Panorama and The Martyrdom of Christians with Styka; and The Battle of the Pyramids with Kossak. Together with Tadeusz Popiel, he painted the dioramas *Tatar Captives* and *The Battle of Grunwald*.
