This is a color lithograph depicting animal motifs iconic to the work of the Spanish surrealist. In the center of the composition is an elephant with unnaturally long, spider-like legs, and just below it walks a flaming giraffe—a motif that in Dalí’s works symbolized a premonition of war and subconscious human fears. In the lower right corner, a distinctive human figure carrying a butterfly net is also visible.
