MARIAN WARZECHA

Marian Warzecha born in 1930 in Krakow, died there in 2022. He studied at the Faculty of Painting and then at the Faculty of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where he received his diploma from Andrzej Stopka in 1957.He also studied the history of material culture and art history at the Jagiellonian University. He co-founded the 2nd Cracow Group from 1957. In his early period, he experimented with informel art, while in later years he created geometric collages and reliefs maintained in uniformly white color. He developed his own artistic systemwith the cooperation of the Metamticians, especially with Waclaw Pieniądz, a lecturer at the Cracow University of Technology, which was the result of his research on the relationship between science and art, on the basis of which the "Metazbiory" series of paintings and drawings were created.
