Wieslaw Prazuch gained experience in working with a camera during World War II - in a professional photography workshop in Pinczow and as a photographer in partisan units in the Kielce region. In 1951-1969 he worked as a photojournalist for the illustrated weekly "World". After the liquidation of the magazine, he joined "Dookoła Świata" and then, from December 1972, the weekly "Kobieta i Życie". In 1958 he became a member of the Union of Polish Artists Photographers. In 1963, he opened his first solo photography exhibition, "From Reportage," at the Kordegarda Gallery in Warsaw. In 1973-1976, he served as president of the Board of Directors of the ZPAF, and later received the dignity of honorary member of the Association. In 1975 he founded the quarterly magazine "Fotografia" and was its editor-in-chief until the magazine's closure in 1989. In 1991, he became the editor and a member of the Artistic and Programming Council of the magazine "6 x 9".
