Pair of imposing decorative vases

In rare, veined, white-reddish Breccia marble with bronze decoration. The imposing vase body in shades of purple-red and white rises from a square base with curved edges and a recessed round foot. The body of the vase widens towards the top, narrowing throatily towards the lid. The round lid is crowned by a gilded knob decorated with gilded leaves and an open acanthus fruit. The magnificent, curved handles extend from the round base up to the lid. The bronze applications are finely cast and cold-chased. (14218613) (19))
