Stanislaw Kamocki (1875-1944) studied under the tutelage of Leon Wyczolkowski, Jacek Malczewski and Jan Stanislawski at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow from 1891 to 1900, and in 1901 and 1902 in Paris. During World War I, he served in the First Brigade of the Polish Legions. He lived in Cracow and Zakopane, where he had his own studio. He was a leading representative of the landscape painting trend during the Young Poland period and in the 1920s and 1930s. He was a member of several creative associations, including the Society of Polish Artists "Art", the Society of Polish Applied Art, and the Society of Podhale Art. He was primarily a landscape painter, painting landscapes from around Krakow and Podhale, but also from his travels abroad. Less frequently, he painted still lifes and interiors. His paintings are characterized by outstanding decorative qualities. The same is true of his prints, the artist was particularly involved in lithography. He was the author of posters and programs of the Cracow cabaret "Zielony Balonik".
