Kamila Kowalik, born in Lublin on June 23, 1975, painted from an early age and developed her artistic skills in classes at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts on Grodzka Street in Lublin. In fact, however, her creative adventure with an easel and palette began at the State High School of Fine Arts in Lublin, from which she graduated in the summer of 1995. In the fall of 1995, she began studying at the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, and received her diploma in 2000.
Kamila Kowalik currently practices painting, drawing and graphic design. She is also involved in computer graphics. She has participated in several solo exhibitions.
The artist is one of those artists who love to describe the world. She devotes every free moment to painting. She works impulsively with great passion, commitment and perseverance. She used to say about herself:
"When I close myself with my canvases, brushes and paints, I feel special. I focus on my own interior, emotions, moods. I'm simply telling another story."
Kamila paints with acrylic paints, inks, sometimes she also uses crayons or places pieces of cardboard or shiny crystals in her paintings to create a kind of collage.
The space and scenery of the paintings is unique, mysterious, sometimes downright fantastic. All this, however, remains a fully original author's creation. In many of the paintings, a non-accidental texture is drawn, giving the composition a whole. It often takes the form of thick layers of paint, structures, at other times it is a fragment of frayed canvas. The paintings are not smooth. The paint is laid on the paintings in a thick layer, in some places it even stands out. This creates interest. Up close the paintings look completely different, intriguing, even asking sometimes to touch them, to run your finger along their protuberances. The artist combines colors in an unusual way. At the same time there is a lot of shiny gold and silver. On others you can notice bright colors that evoke our eyesight. All this adds up to a whole and creates a certain atmosphere and mood. The observer's gaze is involuntarily drawn into the depths of the space, up to a small detail placed in an unexpected place.
Kamila is constantly thinking about the next painted canvases....
