Biography
Kornel Kowalski graduated from the Post-Secondary School in Orłowo, where in 2008 he earned the title of Photographic Artist in the field of digital photography. In 2018, he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in easel painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in the studio of Prof. Maciej Świeszewski. His main diploma project, “The Invisible,” consisting of five monumental oil paintings (300 x 200 cm each), was recognized as one of the most beautiful at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He created the supplementary project “Notes from an Autopsy” under the supervision of Dr. Zbigniew Treppa, presenting an innovative approach to digital photography. In 2019, one of his graduation paintings was acquired by the National Museum in Gdańsk, where it is on permanent display in the exhibition “Palace of Art: Young Polish Painting.” The artist also creates photographs of modernist Gdynia and runs a YouTube channel where he presents his own video art pieces, described as “moving abstractions,” for which he composes original music. He is the author of four comic books, three of which won first place in nationwide competitions.
