Very fine, polychrome micro mosaic depicting a reclining dog in front of a pillar stump and a deep blue sky. In a fine yellow gold brooch with octagonal inner frame and expansive symmetrical acanthus foliage.
Annotation:
Antonio Aguatti (died 1846) came from a dynasty of successful mosaic artists and refined their pictorial language. In 1834 he was appointed professor at the Studio Vaticano del Mosaico. (14100812) (13)
