Born in 1978, Urszula Gałązka is a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She studied there from 2021 to 2024. She paints, draws, and creates prints. She is a versatile artist who creates in any situation—for example, while watching a movie, at a birthday party, or riding the bus. The results of her work can be found on her website, https://urszulagalazka.eu/
The subjects of her paintings and drawings include still lifes, architecture, and fantastical worlds. She is also interested in geometric and folk motifs. She has a keen eye for color, which is evident in her paintings, characterized by vibrant hues. The paintings from the series “Rest Here, Where the Garden Envelops You” were created as part of a painting appendix to her thesis. They depict human figures in a fairy-tale world of nature. The painting “Girl Among Trees with Bells” comes from this series. In the painting, we can see various shades of green that envelop the viewer so completely that one feels as if on a summer day when the sun is shining and one seeks coolness amid the greenery. The bluebells have grown so densely that you can almost smell them. The girl is sitting on a tree stump, resting—or perhaps waiting for someone? Who?
