An interesting photograph of hanged German soldiers.
Toward the end of the war, executions of this kind—intended to deter others from deserting or attempting to surrender—were carried out regularly on both the Eastern and Western fronts.
Here is an example of an execution on the Eastern Front; a German canister is visible next to one of the soldiers, and a half-track vehicle is in the background.
The item is in good condition.
Dimensions: 6 x 9 cm.
