Only one coin certified finer by NGC. A sensational and exceptionally beautiful example of this issue, featuring a sharp strike and old surface toning while still exhibiting vibrant, original mint red luster. Bitkin 804. This copper 5 kopeks coin from 1791, struck at the Kolivansky Mint, is a remarkable example of 18th-century Russian numismatics. It is exceedingly rare to encounter such coins with remnants of their original red color, which significantly enhances its appeal. this particular specimen stands out for its smooth, corrosion-free fields and well-preserved color. Large copper coins from this period are almost never found with their original red luster, making this piece a true rarity. Despite a minor misalignment of one die, the overall quality and eye appeal of this coin make it a distinguished addition to any collection of Russian coinage. The re-engraving from 1790 further adds historical interest, making this coin even more desirable for collectors.
