Julia Domna was the second wife of Septimius Severus and the mother of Caracalla and Geta. An intelligent, talented and beautiful woman, she had a great influence on the Empire during her husband reign and practically managed it on behalf of her sons. In 217, after the murder of Caracalla, she probably committed suicide by starving herself to death.
