Krzysztof PAWŁOWSKI (1957), Face
marble
H 36 cm, base 18 x 10 cm
In 1978, he left Poland. He stayed in Vienna, but in 1979 went to the United States. He permanently settled in Seattle, Washington, where sculpture absorbed him completely and his works were acclaimed and gained popularity and favor with American critics. His passion for sculpture and the hope of encountering other cultures and styles of sculpture leads him to Alaska (1984). He immediately falls in love with specific Alaskan art. Under its great influence, he develops his work. His works adorn galleries from the far north to the western part of Alaska. He put his creative passion and the experience he gained there to use in his creative work after returning to Seattle. His sculptures have found their way into galleries and private art collections from California to Washington, Idaho Colorado and Arizona, everywhere winning the enthusiasm of the public, critical acclaim and great interest from art dealers. He realized his professional goals. The year 2006 was a turning point for Christopher. A sense of fulfillment in the US and nostalgia for Poland influenced his decision to return to the country. Here he continues to create in his characteristic style, choosing statuesque materials like stone, alabaster, granite, marble and basalt. Each subject inspires him to create something new. All works are unique - they reflect the emotions and impressions arrested in creative actions.
