A decorative oriental vase for ikebana-style flower arrangements. The body is covered with a silver plating and richly decorated with ornamentation and colorful enamel. The central opening and six smaller openings are designed for inserting stems.
A striking, handcrafted Oriental vessel for ikebana-style floral arrangements / flower arranger, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
The piece features a polygonal, decoratively contoured body, the surface of which is richly adorned with relief floral and geometric ornamentation. Individual panels are adorned with colorful enamels in shades of blue, turquoise, and green, characteristic of the applied arts of the Middle East and Central Asia.
The body is made of metal and covered with a silver plating, with visible natural wear in places revealing the base metal. The entire piece has retained a distinct, elegant patina.
The upper part features one larger central opening and six smaller openings arranged radially. This arrangement was used to stabilize and separate the stems in a decorative floral arrangement.
Condition: good, with typical signs of age and use: wear, patina, and localized losses and marks on the surface of the silver plating. All features are visible in the photographs.
