Tytus Brzozowski is a watercolorist and architect fascinated by the soul of the city. He often juxtaposes silhouettes of edifices and people, creating colorful, serene scenes on the borderline between reality and fantasy. His favorite character is Warsaw. Despite the surreal aftertaste, the paintings are related to the real history of Polish cities.
- I look for a key that will allow me to reflect the true character of a place or local community. I often paint buildings that no longer exist or are located in unusual surroundings," explains Tytus.
Sometimes he goes beyond the realm of watercolor, as he did for the designs of six Warsaw murals, the large-format picture book Miastonauci, and the landscapes of the ruined capital for the film After the Apocalypse.
Brzozowski's paintings have been exhibited at the Season of Polish Culture in Ningbo, China, and the prestigious ARTLIFE festival in Moscow, among others. They are also used by the Polish Tourist Organization to promote Poland at international fairs.
