The work comes from a portfolio published by the ARTISTIC-GRAPHIC EDITION OF THE MUSEUM OF THE POLISH WOODS IN WARSAW; The boards were embossed at the Labor Cooperative "Znak" in 1966 in Warsaw on 180 g. offset paper in an edition of 3000 + 100 pieces.

Tadeusz Kulisiewicz was born in 1899 in Kalisz. He studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Poznan, continued his studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the studios of M. and M. Kotarbinski and W. Skoczylas. He debuted at the exhibition of the Association of Graphic Artists - Ryt. During the first years of his career, he devoted himself mainly to woodcut work. After the war, the series Warsaw 1945 was created. He traveled a lot, visited China, Mexico, Brazil, India, European countries. Travels became an inspiration for artistic cycles of drawings depicting the visited countries - their landscape, nature and, above all, the people living there. He operated with a characteristic concise line and with an economical form he obtained an unusual expressive power of his works. Obtaining a drawing with a very strong, clear expression. He liked to draw female silhouettes, nudes - he devoted a large part of his works to this subject. He was a professor at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He received honorary membership of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. His works were presented at numerous solo exhibitions in Europe, Asia and the Americas, including in 1939 in the Polish pavilion at the World Exhibition in New York. In 2019, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Kulisiewicz's birth, the Tadeusz Kulisiewicz Drawing and Graphic Arts Center held a temporary exhibition entitled "Master and Disciples: Tadeusz Kulisiewicz and the Traditions of Warsaw Printmaking." His works are in museum and private collections, among others in the District Museum of Kalisz Land in Kalisz where he came from.
