Polish and Austrian composer , music editor who worked in Cracow, Tel-Aviv and Vienna. Haubenstock-Ramati was also a designer and painter. Haubenstock-Ramati studied composition, music theory, violin playing and philosophy in Krakow and Lviv in 1937-40, with Artur Malawski and Jozef Koffler among his teachers. He was head of the music department of Radio Krakow. From 1950 he was a professor at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music, where he led the establishment of a central music library. In 1957 he received a six-month scholarship from the academy of concrete music. From 1958, he was editor of new music for Universal Edition in Vienna. In addition, he gave guest lectures and seminars in Tel-Aviv, Stockholm, Darmstadt, Bilthoven and Buenos Aires, and from 1973 was a professor at the Vienna Music School.
