Biography
Born in Warsaw’s Powiśle district, Szyszko graduated from the capital’s High School of Fine Arts and completed his studies at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts. He began his career as an illustrator at the comic magazine *Relax*, where he published, among others, *The Mystery of Kipu*, *Konus*, *In the Power of the Great Goddess*, and *The Bronze Lion*. In the 1980s, he began collaborating with the “Sport i Turystyka” publishing house, where he took over the “Helicopter Pilot” series. He also created issues in the series *The Beginnings of the Polish State*, *Polish Travelers*, and *The Forest Sports Club*; his last major comic book project was *Julius Caesar*—however, the album was never published, and the artwork was lost. Szyszko subsequently abandoned comics in favor of historical illustrations.
