Jan Młodożeniec (born 1929 in Warsaw, died 2000 there) - Polish graphic artist; involved in applied graphics, especially poster and book graphics; one of the most prominent representatives of the Polish poster school also a painter. From 1948 to 1955 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, in the department of graphics and poster design of Prof. Henryk Tomaszewski.
He designed posters and graphics, working with publishing houses: Czytelnik, Iskry, Artistic-Graphic Publishing House, Film Rental Headquarters, as well as theaters and museums. His works were distinguished by: vivid colors, humor and the ability to encapsulate the subject of the work in a single sign.
He is the author of film posters (including Once Upon a Time in America, The Godfather, Gremlins Crash, The Great Gatsby), theater posters (for plays by Chekhov, Fredro, Wyspianski), on the occasion of cultural events (X Zamojskie Lato Teatralne, poster exhibitions, graphics) advertising posters and book covers (Stanisław Młodożeniec Kreski i futureski, Agnieszka Osiecka Szpetni czterdziestoletni, Witold Gombrowicz Trans-Atlantyk).
During his lifetime, Jan Młodożeniec had more than 40 solo exhibitions. From 1962 to 2000 he participated in many exhibitions of Polish poster art at home and abroad, in the International Poster Biennials in Warsaw, the USA, Toyama. Since 1974 he was a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale.
