Jeremi Wasiutyński was born in 1907. He studied mathematics, physics, and astronomy. In 1930 he received a master's degree in astronomy. A few years later he published his first book, this monograph on Nicolaus Copernicus "Copernicus. Creator of the New Sky."The monograph was honored by the Literary News as the best book of 1938. The book aroused much controversy, including the fact that Wasiutyński stripped Copernicus of his Polishness in it.
