A very rare monograph by Vira Sventytskaya devoted to carved crosses from the 17th-20th centuries in the collection of the Ukrainian National Museum in Lviv. The illustrative part includes likenesses of 68 antique crosses.

As the author states in the preface:
"The purpose of this article is to provide a general description of the carved wooden hand-carved crosses in the National Museum, collected mainly before the war from various parts of Galicia. The museum's collection provides rich, diverse material for analyzing and showing the main stages in the development of Ukrainian, and especially Galician, small church sculpture. However, this picture will not be complete until all the material from the various museum collections on Ukrainian territory is taken into account. This review does indeed include references to collections of crosses in Galician museums and gives examples of particular features. However, they are incomplete, as only these moments can complete the picture of the development of the form and carving of Galician crosses by N. M. or clarify some ambiguities.".
