The sermons collected in the fifth volume of "The Preacher's Work" include texts intended for the solemnities and feasts of the church year. The author discusses, among other things, the meaning of the name of Jesus, the feast of Corpus Christi, the veneration of the Sacred Heart, Marian feasts, as well as figures of saints such as St. Joseph, St. Francis de Sales and St. Anthony. The sermons combine the exposition of Catholic doctrine with moral instruction, addressing both Scripture and the lives of the faithful. The volume is part of a larger series of occasional sermons intended for preachers and clergy, and a document of homiletics at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
