Artur Sliwinski (born August 17, 1877 in Ruszki near Kutno, died January 16, 1953 in Warsaw) - Polish historian, publicist, politician, prime minister of Poland in 1922, senator of the 4th and 5th term in the Second Republic in 1935-1939, freeman.
A monograph on the January Uprising divided into 14 chapters, a conclusion and afterword. Sliwinski focused on the origins and causes of the independence uprising, as evidenced by the fact that virtually most of the chapters were devoted to these themes.
In addition to a thorough analysis of the causes of the outbreak of hostilities on Polish soil, Sliwinski also draws detailed portraits of figures important to the January Uprising - starting with Andrzej Zamoyski and Aleksander Wielopolski, and ending with the insurgent dictators and commanders. It recalls the beautiful and tragic fates of Zygmunt Padlewski, Dionysius Czachowski, Stefan Bobrowski, Romuald Traugutt and many others.
