Biography
A Polish painter, poster artist, and illustrator born in Paris, he began his studies in Lviv under Leonard Marconi. In 1883, he moved to Kraków to begin his studies at the School of Fine Arts. He studied under, among others, Jan Matejko, Władysław Łuszczkiewicz, Florian Cynk, and Leopold Loeffler. After five years, he left for the Academy in Munich to study under Alexander Wagner. He worked in illustration and sculpture but focused primarily on painting cityscapes, genre and historical scenes, as well as portraits, in oil and watercolor.
