Pellegrino di Mariano Rossini (1449 - 1492), - Domestic altar with Madonna and Child

Domestic altar with Madonna and Child . The small domestic altar in the form of an aedicula shows the Madonna and Child in front of a landscape. In the gable, the figure of God the Father is sculpturally modelled on a black background. The infant Jesus, dressed in a yellow robe, sits facing left and holds a bird in his left hand; with his right hand, the Son of God blesses the people. Mary is wearing a red robe, a white veil over her head and a blue cloak pulled over her head. A landscape stretches out in the background, fading into the distance. A town can be sketchily recognised on the left and a tree rises on the right edge of the picture. The halos of Jesus and Mary are modelled in relief. Wood, 53 × 39 cm, with frame
