Jan Bąkowski - Warsaw painter, identified with the author of the painting in the church in Budzyn dat. 1818 and the family portrait of Valentine Wysogota Zakrzewski of Wiśniów, dated 1819. The attribution on the back of the presented portrait is probably incorrect - Ksawery Franciszek of Osin h. Węzyk was born in 1750 and the portrait may depict his son Jan Nestor Wężyk, born in 1795 and thus here portrayed in his 30s, similar to the age of the figure shown.
