Waclaw Sobieraj was born on September 26, 1950 in Uniejow. He studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź, where in 1974 he received a diploma in painting under Prof. Zdzisław Głowacki, with an annex in decorative fabric design under doc. Aniela Bogusławska and in clothing fabric design under adj. Bolesław Tomaszkiewicz.
