Teresa RUDOWICZ (1928-1994), Bad star

One of the more daring and original figures in Krakow's art community. She began her studies in 1948-1950 at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Gdansk, and continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1950-1954 under Zbigniew Pronaszko (graduating in the studio of Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa). She later worked briefly at the Historical Museum in Sanok before returning to Cracow in 1957. Together with her husband, artist Marian Warzecha, she stayed temporarily in Italy (from 1959); she was also on a Kosciuszko Foundation scholarship in the United States (1971/1972); she traveled in Israel (1992) and France (1994). She was one of the co-founders and members of the KRAKOW GROUP (KRAKOW GROUP II), which was reactivated after World War II; she repeatedly participated in group exhibitions of its members, and also showed her works individually at the Krzysztofory Gallery, which she founded.
