Tadeusz DOMINIK (1928-2014), Garden, 1980s

oil, canvas, 80 x 100 cm;
Signed l. d.: Dominik.

Tadeusz Dominik's geometric, unified landscapes
can be viewed́ as a natural consequence of the aesthetics of the
Capists, who, using multiple layers of paint to delude the eye,
like Tadeusz Dominik, distorted or processed the
images to depict́ the actual landscape. Canvases
Tadeusz Dominik are characterized by their expressive nature, both
in the form of swirling̨ shapes, as well as dramatic, rapid
́s brushstrokes, giving the impression of a pushy need to
to record a moment before it is a past, hazy episode.
The offered canvas perfectly fits̨ into the subject matter̨ of the works of
Tadeusz Dominik's works, which arę landscapė, simplified images of
fields, stretches of flowered meadows unified into irregular,
spherical patches of color, views of the garden.
