He studied art at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń from 1949 to 1954. He is associated with his alma mater as a lecturer, with the title of professor since 1990. Geometry rules in his work, although the artist refers to less predictable factors such as light and shadow. The artist's work has been influenced by such artistic trends as Cubism and Constructivism. His interest in spatial forms influenced his first relief works of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Wisniewski participated in the most important artistic events related to the art of space and geometry: in the 1st Biennale of Spatial Forms in Elblag (1965), in the exhibitions of the Golden Grape in Zielona Gora,in the Plein-Air for Artists Using the Language of Geometry in Białowieża, Okuninka (near Chelm), Oronsko (Center for Contemporary Art) and Radziejowice, organized by Bożena Kowalska.

The presented work-object, with a solid structure, is monochromatic, matte and is a kind of "composition game". The regular elements that build it are not painted on the canvas, but superimposed one after another. In the central part we have one below the other empty squares, in whose space the play of light takes place.

According to the artist's assumptions, the creative process is completed by the viewer - it is his movement in relation to the painting that determines the space of the work. "Structural elements of my paintings, such as figures and planes, lines and spheres, refer to spatial thinking, expressing itself in terms of Euclidean geometry, consistent, based on concretes, physically and mathematically precise, respecting the logical order. At the same time, however, the taut, slightly curved, colorful and shiny planes in the paintings when viewed from different points of view are arranged in moving combinations of different spherical surfaces. They set in motion on the picture plane a play of variable, flickering unpredictable lights, dependent on the mechanics of chance."
