Sliwinisk - and Polish painter, printmaker, art collector and conservator, brother of Wincenty, poet and collector. He graduated from the Marszałek Stanisław Małachowski Gimnazjum in Płock. He studied painting and architecture in Warsaw at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1937-1939 and 1946-1948. He received his diploma as a painter and Master of Arts in 1948. While still a junior high school student, he received the first prize in his career at the National Painting Exhibition in Warsaw in 1932. He had his first exhibition in 1935 in Warsaw. Later there were exhibitions in Munich, West Berlin and New York. At first he painted historical compositions, then devoted himself to landscape and religious painting. In 1960 he moved to Vienna, where he lived until his death. In 1968 he was awarded the UNESCO prize for painting. In 1989 he was awarded the gold medal "Meritorious for Polish Culture."
