oil on canvas, 50 x 50 cm, signed on the reverse 'BARTEK | BUCZEK | "BLACK CHARACTER I"'.
Work presented at the exhibition "Black Character" Bank Pekao Project Room, CCA Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw, 2013.
Born in Czechowice Dziedzice, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, faculty of painting, with a diploma defended in the atelier of Andrzej Tobis. Ex member of the Octopus group. The artist creates monochromatic series of paintings, moving through conceptual painting with fluidity, where reality is an important interpretative track. In his early days, he was heavily influenced by the Ładnie group along with three friends who also studied under Andrew Tobis. He describes himself as a "realist tired of reality," constantly seeking new possibilities of expression in his work. Buczek has a conceptual distance from what he does.
The artist has been exhibiting since 2008 when he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. He has participated in many exhibitions, including: Black Romanticism at BWA Sokół in Nowy Sącz, Black Character at CCA in Warsaw, Panic Room at CCA Kronika in Bytom, and Swallow's Anxiety at Art Agenda Nova in Krakow.
